Who is WP WordWise?

Just me, really. I’m Teresa Griffith, a wordsmith and WordPress wizard who provides marketing communications for small businesses and nonprofits. The headshot at left is a pretty accurate AI-generated version made from an informal selfie, because I don’t have a current professional real photo. The inset photo is me in my natural habitat—on horseback.

My background includes early experience in customer service management, eight years in the corporate world, entrepreneurship, and small business ownership. WP WordWise is the company I have operated under for 10 years.

The combination of roles I’ve held has given me a broad skillset. The corporate job was in brand management, so I have a solid understanding of how to build and manage brand identity. When I left the corporate world, it was to act as marketing director for a startup bringing a vodka brand to the U.S. market. In the beginning, it was just me, so I did all the things.

When I began freelancing, I initially focused on copywriting and brand management. Some of my clients, after working with me for a bit, started asking about additional services. “Do you do websites?” And why wouldn’t I do websites, right? So I learned WordPress—back when there weren’t drag-and-drop page builders and you had to actually edit code to change some visual elements. Sliding into email marketing was a natural add-on to the web work.

Then, one client lost their graphic designer, and I added Adobe InDesign and Illustrator to my stack. The previous designer was gracious enough to hand over all her files, so I had pro documents to work with as I learned. After a couple of years, I was creating my own designs.

Obviously, I love learning, and I love that levelling up my skills allows me to do more for my clients. What am I learning now? Look for some AI-assisted tools and resources from me soon…
